What we do //

Sunday Services

Farnham Vineyard meets each Sunday morning at All Hallows School, Weybourne Road, Farnham (click here for map/directions). Coffee is served from 10am and the service begins at 10.40am. The atmosphere is pleasantly informal, and you can be sure of a warm welcome. There will be someone there to help you find your way round. Services last for about an hour and a half.

Children's activities are provided during the service from crèche to teens. These include an abundance of fun, some worship and teaching, and plenty of encouragement relevant to each age group.

We have a Family Communion on the first Sunday of the month.  The children join their parents towards the end of the service to receive communion.

We have an All Age Service on the third Sunday of the month where everyone meets together.  This service lasts for about an hour.  The crèche room is open in case an escape route is needed!

We also have All Age Services where there is a fifth Sunday in the month, led by our young people.

"Open Heaven"

We have evening services on the first and third Sunday of the month (unless notified to the contrary) in The Vineyard Centre, starting at 7pm, finishing at approximately 9pm.  We call these "Open Heaven" and there is worship, soaking and teaching.  See Diary Page for dates.

Small Groups

These are central to the church's life. Groups of 6-12 people meet in homes for food, relationship building, worship, prayer, and learning from the Bible. The goal of these groups is to facilitate growth in character, to train and equip every member for ministry and to find ways of serving the community together.

Young People

  • Crèche
We have an excellent Crèche facility in All Hallows School during Sunday services.
  • Epic Kids
This is our Sunday ministry for children from 3 - 9 years. As well as meeting in their age groups, they spend time together in worship and various other activities. They have a lot of fun together.
  • Rhythm
This is a group for 10's - 13's which meets on Sundays.  They stay in church with the adults for the first two worship songs, after which they go to Room 101 for their activities.
  • Wired
This is a group for 11's - 14's which meets on Friday evenings during term time. There is a wide range of activities from bowling to night hikes, karaoke, sports and silly games.  Please call the office if you need details of venue.
  • Young People's Group
This group for 14-18 year olds shares the same values and goals as the other small groups at the Vineyard (see above).

Prayer

There is currently one prayer meeting each week on Friday from 9am - 10am in The Vineyard Centre.  All welcome.

Ministries in the Community

These include regular visits to the elderly, a Storehouse (provisions for those in financial difficulty), Harbour (a weekly drop-in lunch), Little Lighthouse (a Parent & Toddler Group) and Wired. Home groups are also encouraged to develop their own areas of service.

Christians Against Poverty UKNew ministry launched: Christians Against Poverty (CAP).  See the news page.

Teaching and Training

Regular leadership and discipleship training takes place in the church. Further courses, all open to the community, take place from time to time, covering such topics as positive parenting, marriage, ministry, managing money and ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Ministry trips occasionally go from Farnham Vineyard to other churches in the UK and abroad. Links are developing with the international church, particularly in poor areas.

Alpha Courses

Alpha logoAlpha is especially designed to be a relaxed, informal and pressure free introduction to the Christian faith. It takes place over 10 evenings and a few hours at a special weekend session. The course is a great opportunity to investigate Jesus for yourself and to make new friends, especially as eating supper together is a part of the process.  We plan to run another course in January 2011.  Contact Guy Pritchard in the FV office for details.

Fellowship and Social Events

Small Groups organise their own social events and there are also occasional events for the whole church.  The FV Bikers go out for rides regularly during the summer months.  Hub in the Pub meets once a month at the Shepherd & Flock Pub after our morning church service.  Please look on the Diary Page for all events.
